PERSONALIZED ESL is the Personalized study of English as a Second or Foreign Language that is tailored to your own needs, interests and goals. Everyone wants to gain fluency when learning a language, but no two people are exactly alike. Our strengths may be higher in one area but lower in another. Traditional ESL ‘Levels’ such as ‘Beginner’, ‘Intermediate’ or ‘Upper-Intermediate’ etc. are not personalized. Together we will develop your ‘Personalized ESL’, and establish your level(s) based on where you want to focus and improve. We will also pay attention to why you are learning English in the first place. Some people want to learn for their professional careers, others want to pass a class or qualify on an exam. Some just want to read and write better either creatively, academically and/or professionally. Some want to improve their ability to speak in social situations, most want to learn for many different reasons! As a CELTA certified ESL Teacher, Dr. Lacey will work to combine your goals with your actual interests, so that not only will you improve your English, but you will do so using content and material that is of interest and relevance to you.
